The Secretary General for Industry visits Danobatgroup
  • The purpose of the meeting was to demonstrate the innovation capabilities of the machine tool manufacturer and reflect on the main challenges that face the industry

The Secretary General for Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises of the Spanish government, Raül Blanco, visited Danobatgroup’sheadquarters last Thursday with the aim of strengthening the areas of collaboration between the executive authority and the machine tool sector and to address the main challenges that are faced by industry.

During their visit, Blanco, who was accompanied by the Government delegate in the Basque country, Denis Itxaso, met with the managing director and the president of Danobatgroup, Pello Rodríguez and Cesar Arriola, respectively. Also present at the meeting were Danobatgroup´s director of Innovation, Nerea Aranguren, Danobat’s managing director Xabier Alzaga, and his counterpart at Soraluce, Rafael Idigoras.

The visit to the facilities in Elgoibar allowed Blanco to become acquainted with the work being carried out in the group and the functioning of the corporative model.

The meeting also had the aim of reinforcing the links between the executive authority and the industrial manufacturing companies, a sector that is characterised by its high technological development component and its firm commitment to innovation and the search for increasingly efficient, competitive and environmentally friendly solutions.

“The meeting was useful for us to make known the needs we have in the area of innovation and find out more about the Ministry´s plans for the industry and the SME. It also allowed us to make known our capabilities as a group specialising in the development of innovative solutions and high-added value services together with global benchmark customers”, said the managing director of Danobatgroup, Pello Rodríguez.

Before coming to Elgoibar, Blanco had the opportunity to talk to the president of the Mondragon Corporation, Iñigo Ucín, and exchange points of view with Mondragon’s Industry Board. The secretary also visited the Mondragon Unibertsitatea facilities together with the rector of that University, Vicente Atxa, and its president, Mikel Álvarez.

With a track record of 65 years in the field of technologies applied to industrial manufacturing, DANOBATGROUP has a workforce made up of more than 1300 people. The group is an international benchmark in the machine tool sector and technologies applied to industrial manufacturing.
