We are a benchmark in machine tools and advanced manufacturing, and we are moving forward to become so in sustainability as well.
Because we want to generate a positive impact on people, society and the planet through our business activities.
We are clear that our singular way of doing things has paved the way to take resolute steps in incorporating Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) criteria in our strategy.
Our roadmap aligns our daily management with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, reflecting our ongoing commitment to creating value, as we have been doing since our inception.

Where do we put the focus?
These are our priority action areas in sustainability
RESPONSIBLE, ETHICAL AND COOPERATIVE GOVERNANCE
We uphold an ethical, solidarity-driven, and participatory management model
Our cooperative business model guides our governance model based on participation, democracy, solidarity, transparency and shared responsibility, combining our cooperative culture with the highest standards of integrity and regulatory compliance.
In parallel, we are advancing the integration of environmental, social and governance criteria into our supply chain, in line with our principles and the group’s commitment to responsible, long-term management
PEOPLE
People are the key to who we are and what we do
Our greatest asset is our people, and they are at the centre of our socio-business project. We empower each individual through our unique work philosophy, and our commitment to strategic talent management ensures that everyone can unlock their potential, fulfil their aspirations, and achieve their goals.
Our dedication extends to continuous learning and professional development throughout their careers.
We offer a wide array of measures to promote work-life balance, including flexible working hours, telecommuting, intensive workday, and more.
We have Equality Plans in place across all our cooperatives.
Health in the broadest sense, together with safety, are our top priorities for both our people and the users of our products.
"Our commitment to people and talent extends beyond our organisation. We collaborate with universities and schools, actively promoting initiatives that encourage STEM careers, with a special emphasis on women.”"

CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENT
Climate action and environmental stewardship: protecting tomorrow by acting today
At Danobatgroup, we want to decouple our carbon footprint from our economic growth, while safeguarding and preserving the environment in which we live. This is an ambitious endeavour, one that unfolds over the long term but mandates immediate action.
What actions are we taking?
Measurement of the three scopes of the carbon footprint
Since 2023, we have been measuring the three scopes of our carbon footprint across most of the companies in our group, as a basis for advancing its reduction.
Danobat’s measurement is also certified under ISO 14064.
Decarbonisation plan
Danobat and Soraluce have greenhouse gas emissions reduction plans for Scopes 1 and 2, with the objective of achieving climate neutrality in these scopes (Net Zero) by 2030.
Workplace mobility plan
We have a mobility plan aimed at reducing the negative impact of commuting to the workplace through more efficient use of transport.
Energy efficiency
We have reduced energy consumption and enhanced energy efficiency across our facilities through comprehensive reforms. This includes improvements to building insulation, LED lighting, monitoring of energy consumption, monitoring and control of lighting, heating and air conditioning systems, etc.
Promoting energy self-sufficiency
We have installed more than 4.000 photovoltaic panels at most of our sites, with plans for further expansion both at our local and international facilities.
We have invested over €1 million in an external solar farm to integrate renewable energy into the group’s energy mix from 2026.
“Leadership in energy & environmental design” Certificate
Two of Soraluce’s manufacturing plants are LEED certified.
Eco-design and environmental criteria in the development of products and services
For more than 10 years, Soraluce has held ISO 14006 certification in eco-design. A total of 27 machine models are already certified.
Danobat has developed the product carbon footprint, the product environmental footprint and the life cycle assessment of the DHD‑T vertical lathe, all audited and verified.
Goimek has developed the capabilities to offer carbon footprint calculations for its machined products.
Waste management
We have an implemented waste management system that regulates the three types of waste: hazardous, non-hazardous and municipal-equivalent waste.
SCRAP
All the group’s manufacturing companies have formally joined a Collective System of Extended Producer Responsibility (SCRAP), thereby ensuring efficient and sustainable management of the packaging we place on the market.
Environmental management
We have an environmental management system certified in accordance with ISO 14001 across all plants in the Basque Country and at the Overbeck and Hembrug subsidiaries.
We implement monitoring and control measures, as well as emergency plans, to ensure environmental protection and safety.
EKIAN
Danobatgroup is participating as an investor in the EKIAN project, the largest solar energy park in the Basque Country.
EKIOLA ELGOIBAR-MENDARO
Danobatgroup supports the Ekiola cooperative project in Elgoibar and Mendaro, which will supply local photovoltaic energy to approximately 650 families in the area.
