Danobatgroup supports the Ekiola cooperative project in Elgoibar and Mendaro.

-
The industrial group has contributed €120,000 towards the installation of a photovoltaic plant that will benefit around 650 families in the two towns.
By contributing to the Ekiola energy project, the industrial group Danobatgroup once again demonstrates its commitment to the sustainable development in its surrounding area. This financial support highlights the industrial group's dedication to creating a positive impact in the Lower Deba region.
Promoted by the town councils of Mendaro and Elgoibar, the Basque Energy Agency (EVE) and the Krean engineering company (part of the Mondragón Corporation), the initiative will supply energy to 650 families, promoting a fair and sustainable energy transition. The photovoltaic plant will be installed in Azkarate and is planned to be completed in 2025, with an expected operational lifespan of 30 years. Further information about the project in this link.
Danobatgroup's contribution is part of the group's firm commitment to integrating sustainability into its core activities, guided by ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) principles.
This commitment is evident in its support for initiatives such as Ekiola, an innovative, citizen-led and citizen-focused model that shares the group's values and cooperative DNA: teamwork, active participation, shared responsibility, and commitment to the local area.
Furthermore, the people of the Danobatgroup co-operatives have not only made a financial contribution, but have also actively collaborated in the process of establishing the Ekiola co-operative in Elgoibar and Mendaro.
'As a cooperative enterprise, we know that when people come together with a common goal, the results are better, fairer and more sustainable', says Erika Lehr, Secretary of the Danobatgroup Governing Board.
