Danobatgroup strengthens its sustainability strategy to maximise the impact of its industrial activity
  • The advanced manufacturing group publishes its fifth annual Sustainability Report, outlining the ESG initiatives implemented throughout 2025.

The industrial group Danobatgroup reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, which is embedded across its strategy through ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria. Throughout 2025, these principles continued to guide the Group's activities, with progress achieved across all three dimensions.

In this regard, the Group's main companies, Danobat and Soraluce, took a significant step forward in their sustainability strategy by carrying out a double materiality assessment. As outlined in Danobatgroup's fifth annual Sustainability Report, this assessment has enabled the cooperatives to identify and prioritise their key sustainability issues and redefine their ESG action plans.

Climate action and environmental stewardship: protecting tomorrow, today

In terms of environmental stewardship, Danobatgroup continued to make progress in areas such as decarbonisation, energy management and the circular economy.

Danobat and Soraluce defined their roadmaps to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2030 for Scopes 1 and 2, namely direct emissions from their operations and indirect emissions associated with the energy they consume. Meanwhile, Danobatgroup continues to promote its Mobility Plan among employees to reduce emissions generated by commuting. In 2025, 46,472.9 kg of CO₂ emissions were avoided—60% more than in the previous year—and more than €7,500 in incentives was distributed among the most active users of the mobile application available to employees.

At the same time, the Group strengthened its commitment to more sustainable energy consumption. In 2025, 100% of the electricity consumed at all its facilities in the Basque Country came from renewable sources, while 15% came from on-site generation, thanks to more than 8,000 m² of photovoltaic surface area installed on its buildings.

In addition, two of Soraluce's manufacturing facilities have achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Gold-level certification, while the ISO 14001-certified Environmental Management System has been extended to cover Danobat's subsidiaries in Germany and the Netherlands, Overbeck and Hembrug.

In the area of ecodesign and the integration of environmental criteria into the development of products and services, Soraluce certified a new model in accordance with the ISO 14006 Ecodesign standard, bringing the total number of certified products to 27. Meanwhile, Danobat verified the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF), Environmental Footprint and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of its underfloor wheel lathe DHD. Goimek also strengthened its capabilities to calculate the carbon footprint of its products.

Creating value and well-being within and beyond the organisation

From a social perspective, with a workforce of 1,492 employees, the Group remains committed to creating quality employment, fostering safe and healthy working environments, and promoting an inclusive and equitable culture aligned with its cooperative business model and focused on the development and well-being of everyone across the organisation.

Throughout 2025, Danobatgroup implemented initiatives and action plans aimed at attracting, developing and retaining talent; supported STEM initiatives, with a particular focus on encouraging scientific and technological careers among women; and continued to implement and advance its Equality Plan through specific measures, including the introduction of a set of guidelines for inclusive recruitment and promotion processes.

As part of its commitment to the communities in which it operates, the Group collaborated with more than 200 organisations, allocating over €1 million to social initiatives. It also continued its participatory Elkarrekin Eragin programme, which allocates €600,000 to three organisations over a three-year period.

Advancing responsible governance and embedding sustainability across the supply chain

In terms of governance, Danobatgroup continued to implement its Compliance Programme and the initiatives arising from it.

Likewise, with the aim of aligning its supply chain with the Group's sustainable and ethical business model, Danobatgroup conducted a sustainability maturity assessment of its key suppliers in 2025. The Group also approved a new Procurement Policy, together with new General Terms and Conditions of Purchase and a Supplier Code of Conduct.
