The Association of Professionals and Businesswomen of Gipuzkoa announced the winners of the ASPEGI 2024 awards today, recognising women for their outstanding professional career and contribution to the regional economy. In its ninth edition this year, the awards recognised Nerea Aranguren, Director of Innovation of Danobatgroup in the Manager/Professional category, and Pilar Mitxelena Escudero, a partner at Iñaki Bereziartua, in the Executive Businesswoman category.

Nerea Ibáñez García, president of ASPEGI, stressed that “with these awards, the association seeks to spotlight the working reality of female managers, professionals and businesswomen in Gipuzkoa, fostering greater equality between women and men in the business and professional area”.

In particular, the ASPEGI presidency commended Aranguren’s competent and innovative work, highlighting her proactivity in projecting a “crucial role for women in the industry”. This recognition underscores her exemplary leadership, whether through initiatives showcasing the role of women or through her constant encouragement of research staff and professionals in the company, making her a worthy winner of the award in the Manager/Professional category.

Nerea Aranguren explained that "this award is a recognition for all the people of the business group whose effort and dedication make an achievement like this a reality, which I consider a joint effort. I would also like to highlight the integral input of women in business, a vital step toward equality and recognition of female talent. This award is a testament to our joint effort to progress toward a work environment that fosters equality, and serves as motivation to step up our efforts to continue leading positive change.”

The official ASPEGI 2024 Awards ceremony is scheduled for February 22 at the Aquarium of Donostia-San Sebastian.
