Danobatgroup steps up its commitment to fostering talent in STEAM areas by sponsoring the First Lego League Euskadi-MONDRAGON tournament
  • The industrial group is proud to be a first-time sponsor of the First Lego League Euskadi-MONDRAGON tournament, organised by the Mondragon Corporation, the University of Mondragon and Innobasque.
  • The Lego League, held in more than 100 countries, is looking for volunteers to assist with the finals on 2 March.  

Firmly committed to nurturing and advancing talent in STEAM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics), the industrial group Danobatgroup is sponsoring the First Lego League Euskadi-MONDRAGON tournament for the first time.

Organised jointly by the Mondragon Corporation, the University of Mondragon and Innobasque, the initiative aims to inspire interest in science and technology among 6 to 16-year olds in the Basque Country through a fun educational tool such as Lego pieces.

On 25 January, the organisers of the tournament put out a public appeal at a press conference to recruit volunteers to help during the final, scheduled to be held on 2 March at the sports centre of the Iturripe Campus of the Mondragon Polytechnic School.

FLL Euskadi-MONDRAGON wants to organise once again a grand celebration with the participation of groups, individuals, educational centres, collaborators and other stakeholders. In a statement they explained that “the smooth running of the day depends on the participation of volunteers, and anyone willing to participate is warmly welcomed".

Anybody who is interested in helping can register through this link and become a direct contributor to the final event of an official tournament held in over 100 countries. The winners of the tournament will go on to participate in the national competition, organised by the association Ingeniera Soy.

Danobatgroup is one of the sponsors of the FLL Euskadi-MONDRAGON event together with Arrasate City Council, Ausolan, Erreka, Fagor Group, Ikerlan, Krean, Laboral Kutxa, LKS Next, Lortek, Maier, the Basque Government Department of Education and the Provincial Councils of Araba, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa.

Danobatgroup´s sponsorship of this tournament aligns seamlessly with other events it has backed to support women in the STEAM areas, such as the Ada Byron and Gladys awards, and the TFG-TFM Mondragon Award competition, among others.

All of these consolidate and highlight Danobatgroup´s social commitment to promoting STEAM vocations at an early age and thus contribute to developing professional talent capable of solving the challenges of the future in areas such as advanced manufacturing.
