GOIMEK, part of the DANOBATGROUP and specialised in precision machining and large machining further widens its production capacity with the purchase of a cutting edge SORALUCE FS-16000 multi-function machining center.

Thanks to this new purchase, the cooperative not only increases its current production capacities, but also enhances its quality service for high-precision parts. Furthermore, the investment will expand the existing range of capacities: apart from grinding and milling now also turning is offered, a new technology not included so far in the extensive machine park of the company.

DANOBATGROUP was awarded the Prize for Innovation in the discipline integration of Industry 4.0 concepts in advanced manufacturing systems at the BIEMH 2016 trade fair.

The group presented the following developments in the digital field under this 4.0 concept:

HMI - Human-machine interface, to improve the interrelationship man machine, through an environment that simplifies machine operation, includes support for programming and specialised machining cycles, facilitates the maintenance reducing down-times, and provides information on how to reduce power consumption.

The DANOBAT LG-1000 grinding machine is an extension of the range, becoming this way the largest model. This external and internal horizontal grinding machine, which also includes more features, is capable of grinding parts within a maximum between-centres distance of 1000 mm. Parts such as cams or eccentric diameters can also be machined on this grinding machine.

The LG range has been developed for the manufacture of highly complex parts such as cutting tools, hydraulic precision components and automotive parts.

DANOBAT received a major order from Bergen Light Rail for the delivery of a train shunt measuring system.

The Bergen Light Rail between Bergen central station and Bergen Airport comprises a 20 km double track line between Bergen city centre in the north and Bergen Airport, Flesland in the south.

The project is part of the Bergen program for transportation, and the urban development and environmental plan, which is a joint effort to coordinate and prioritise public transport, environmental issues, construction of road, pedestrian and cycle paths over the twenty year period 2005 to 2025.

Lymington Precision Engineers has gained a reputation over its 30 year history of being a ‘can do’ organisation, growing to a £50 million turnover business on the back of targeted investment in people and manufacturing technology. Now under the wings of the Senior PLC as a member of its Flexonics Division, LPE is continuing to invest and diversify as well as increasing the capacity for existing customers within the Oil & Gas, Telecommunications, Aerospace and Defence, Land and Sea Systems, Nuclear and Marine industries.

In the past 12 months LPE, which is accredited to ISO 14001 and 18001 and is working towards AS9100, opened a second manufacturing location, this additional 30,000 ft2 facility takes total floorspace to 121,000 ft2 and enhances the company’s ability to project manage large, low-volume components on machines with up to 4 m capacity as well as higher volume work on its two flexible machining systems. All of its work tends to be high-tech, high-added value, working with difficult to machine materials to tight tolerances. Within the new facility is a purpose-built, temperature-controlled, environment for its latest machine tool investment, a Danobat HG-72-3000-B11, a universal heavy-duty grinding machine. This 3000mm between centre machine is capable of grinding diameters up to 640 mm weighing up to 1.5 tonnes and, the integrated torque motor on the CNC-controlled B-axis allows the machine to carry out a wide range of grinding functions, including external and internal grinding, thread grinding. The machine’s wheelhead is powered by a 45kW motor that generates peripheral speeds of up to 45 m/s on the machine at LPE, with a maximum wheel diameter of 610 mm.

SORALUCE FXR Milling Boring Machine has been awarded with the international distinction for high design quality after proving its design excellence in the most important international  product design competition.

From a record number of 5214 participants, from 57 nations, SORALUCE FXR milling boring machine stood out and has been the winner of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016, being one of this year’s best of the industry.

The Red Dot jury, consisting of 41 expert independent designers, design professors and specialised journalists, discussed all entries live and on site according to the strict Red Dot statutes.

The European machine-tool manufacturer, which specialises in milling, boring and turning, is revolutionising its sector with DAS (Dynamics Active Stabiliser) technology, which has just earned it the European Quality Innovation of the Year and Best of Industry awards.

DAS technology, which is set to be a revolution in the machine-tool sector, consists of a device that actively increases the dynamic rigidity of machines, thus increasing cutting capability by up to 300% due to the reduction of the risk of chatter during machining process. The system increases cutting capability in general, improves surface quality and reduces the risk of tool breakages, increasing tool lifetime under extreme conditions.

The system has been tested on all types of machining processes, such as press heads, motor pole shoes and dies, and in all cases its use has resulted in reductions of up to 45% in the machining times tested.

DANOBAT has dedicated two-day open day to show live demostrations to their customers of the DANOBAT-OVERBECK IRD-400 High Precision Radius Grinding machine, as well as, announce the new re-control / rebuild program that the company is offering. The presentation responds to the demands of the market of high quality machines.

In addition to customers, the day brought together representatives of main industries, who attend these days looking for high technology that allows them to confront their projects with the highest guarantees of success. Manex Ochoteco, DANOBAT Machine Tool President, valued assistance to these days positively: "since it was our first edition, we did not expect such assistance, which encorages us to organize new exhibitions in the near future".
