DANOBATGROUP forms an alliance with the talent of Basque start-ups to boost the digital industry
  • The machine tool manufacturer collaborates with the start-up Innovae in the framework of the Business Acceleration Program Bind 4.0 of the Basque Government.
  • The project foresees the application of augmented reality and 3D recreation models for the display of data on the operation of equipment.
  • This initiative was presented in the area dedicated to young technology companies at the Hannover Messe.

With the aim of boosting the advancement of the industry 4.0 initiative and to strengthen ties with the business fabric, the Basque machine tool manufacturer DANOBATGROUP and the technology start-up Innovae are developing a joint project based on the application of digital technologies in equipment and industrial manufacturing processes.

The project is part of the BIND 4.0 program, launched by the Basque Government and the business development agency SPRI with the mission to strengthen the Basque entrepreneurial ecosystem and facilitate collaboration between small companies with a high-technology factor and benchmark industrial corporations in their activity field.

Specifically, DANOBATGROUP and Innovae are working on a monitoring system of SORALUCEmilling machines and DANOBAT grinding machines, which consists of collecting data originating from equipment and subsequent display on devices such as tablets or smart glasses.

Recreation models of machines in 3D and augmented reality technologies are used for correctly displaying the data.

DANOBATGROUP brings in its knowledge and experience in collecting and processing data relative to the status and maintenance of machinery, while Innovae takes on the development of solutions for visualisation that must be easily understandable in order to facilitate the work of the operators.

"Our participation in this program allows us to strengthen collaboration with the start-ups. Typical of these undertakings are their high dynamics, organisational agility, versatility of proposals and ability to work with new ideas, constant evolution and their ability to explore new technologies," says Elena Urkia, the project coordinator in DANOBATGROUP.

According to the expert, the adaptability of start-ups to penetrate new markets and their ability to take on new challenges is a major contribution to already consolidated companies.

This project was recently presented in the Young Tech Enterprise area at the latest Hannover Messe show, the most important industrial trade fair in Europe.

This area, open throughout the fair, was established with the mission to foster collaboration between enterprises and encourage the creation of synergies between entrepreneurs and trailblazing companies.

Furthermore, the collaboration between DANOBATGROUP and Innovae was also presented at the Demo Day. This event was organised by the Basque Government to pool the results from the first edition of the BIND 4.0 program, boost synergies and present the main developments of the second call of the initiative.
